EXTRA - CURRICULAR CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

Waterfoot we enrich the curriculum through a wide range of extra-curricular activities, trips, visitors, competitions and workshops. This is a real strength at Waterfoot and includes a wide range of opportunties which include art, design, music, sporting, dance, drama, cultural and STEM activities.

Spring 2 2025 clubs!

Our spring and summer terms are going to be a super busy term with our club members training up for exciting and fun competitions, tournaments and leagues! Our football clubs are back in training for their upcoming league matches after 3 of our 4 teams became Rossendale Champions in the tournaments!

Netball training is back on after the short break in Spring 1 and we look forward to welcoming St Pauls and St John's schools during March and April where our blue and yelllow netball teams will be in action against them in our league matches! Our yellow team have already played Haslingden Primary school and won 14-0 and the Blue team were 12-0 victors at Balladen! 

Our UKS2 dance troupe continue with their regular club and training ready for their dance competition on March 5th and our table tennis players have been preparing for their tournament at the start of April since September! 

Cross Country sessions have now begun where the children are learning to pace themselves and build up their stamina for running long distances. Their Cross Country competition will be mid to late May.

Spring 1 2025 clubs

Our two girls' football teams are both in action this half term - the Year 3/4 girls have won their qualifying round for the Rossendale finals and the Year 5/6 girls have already won the Rossendale finals and are now representing Rossendale in the Lancashire finals in Fleetwood! The Year 3-4s will also be representing Waterfoot at a glow-in-the-dark dodgeball festival and athletics. The Year 2s are also taking part in the multiskills festival at the Valley Leadership Academy,. Our Year 5/6 dance club are continuing their training for the Lancashire Dance competition at the start of March and we also have a Year 3/4 dance club on Wednesdays this half term. On Fridays, Mr Oates is leading the Year 5/6 dodgeball club and training the up our players for the Rossendale dodgeball tournament on February 10th. Our table tennis club are also preparing for their tournament at the start of April. Our Key Stage 1 children are blowing out some fabulous tunes at recorder club each Friday!!

Our girls football competitions!

The Year 3/4 girls are now Rossendale football champions, joining the Year 5/6 girls' team and the Year 3/4 boys' team! Not a bad year with 3 of the 4 of our teams being Rossendale champs! The Year 5/6 girls represented Rossendale wonderfull well at the Lancashire football finals!

nETBALL CLUB AT WATERFOOT!

Our netball club has begun training for this year's netball league and the Rossendale netball tournament which we won last year to represent Rossendale at the county finals! We have so many children attending netball club that we have two teams entered in the league this year - the yellow team and the blue team. Each team has played their first league match of the season in November.

vs Balladen (Away)

The Blue team played away at Balladen for the first league match of the season, winning the match 12 - 0. 

vs Haslingden primary (AWAy)

The yellow team's first match of the season was against Haslingden Primary School, coming out 14-0 victors!

September 2024 - Autumn 1 - FOOTBALL competitions

Clubs have got off and away quickly at Waterfoot and our football teams have already been in action during September and October! Our Year 5/6 boys were in action first at the Rossendale School's tournament at Valley Academy where we drew two matches and lost one.  The boys were then back in action at Blackburn Rovers in the Utilita Kids Cup! The boys won all 6 of the their group matches to make it through to the last 4 from 30 teams! Sadly, we went down 2-0 in the semis, finishing 3rd overall. 

The girls were then in action at the Rossendale schools tournament on October 9th where they won two matches and drew one, putting them through to the Rossendale finals which we will attend on October 14th.

Take a look at some photos from some of our Spring 1 clubs! School pings have gone out today to confirm your child's places on Spring 2 clubs! The Lower juniors start their own dance club and the Upper juniors will be going to the Dance competition to perform their routine! Good luck everyone!
