Computing curriculum
At Waterfoot Primary School, we aim to provide a broad, balanced, challenging and enjoyable curriculum for all pupils and develop pupils’ computational thinking skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. As a school we meet the requirements of the National Curriculum programmes of study for
computing at Key Stage 1 and 2 and respond to new developments in technology. We aim to equip pupils with the confidence and skills to use digital tools and technologies. We enhance and enrich learning in other areas of the curriculum using IT and computing whilst developing our pupils' understanding of how to use computers and digital tools safely and responsibly.
We follow the Teach Computing programmes of study accross a two year cycle. ICT is also used within the classroom and across subjects to support the children's learning and to allow them to apply their computing skills.
