We have lots of rewards.

Reading - a certificate is awarded each week for our reader of the week. Raffle tickets are awarded each time your book is signed and 3 reads equals extra playtime. We have a raffle prize draw on Friday.

Book Winner: Each week one child is chosen as our book winner. This child gets to choose a new book. This award is for effort with reading at home or at school.

TTRockstars: Each week we have a TT Rockstar champion. for fantastic effort learning times tables.

Certificates: Certificates are also awarded in a Friday assembly for English or maths and our class superstar!

On Tuesday 12th November we wore odd socks to school to celebrate anti-bullying week. We wore odd socks as it gave us the opportunity to encourage people to express ourselves and celebrate our individuality and what makes us all unique. We then participated in a range of activities linking to this year’s theme of ‘respect’.

On Monday 4th November, we kicked off our new History unit, the Plague. We had a full day of learning plague themed activities. We made Plague doctor masks, posies to protect us from the ‘bad air’ and learnt the rhymes and songs. We had a fantastic day!

On Friday 1st November, we celebrated the festival Diwali. We learnt all about the festival of light, made wonderful firework crafts, listened to Diwali music, and did some henna art on our hands. It was lots of fun!

Our school value for this half term is kindness. We wrote secret kindness cards to give to someone else in the class. It was lovely to see how we had all recognised how kind we are in different ways.

We have spent some of our guided reading time in our school library. We loved looking at the new books and sharing stories with our friends.

During October we have been celebrating Black History Month to recognise the contributions and achievements of Black people, and to challenge racism and discrimination.

We had a lovely day celebrating ‘National Poetry Day’. We did some collaborative learning and created some verses as a class, before heading off into small groups to create our own verses. We then put them together to create a wonderful poem. Take a look at our work below.
