Welcome to our Sycamore Class webpage. We are a wonderful class of year 3 and 4 children. We hope you enjoy looking at our webpage and finding out about the wonderful things we have been learning over the year.

We also have alternating termly sessions with the wondeful sports coaches.
Routines
You take your reading diary home each evening and return it to school the following day. Reading books are stored in the classroom, you must put it in the box to earn a raffle ticket. If you need to do a reading quiz, it is your responsibilty to tell an adult and complete this on a Chromebook.
We come into school quietly and calmly and get on with our morning task which is often handwriting or times tables.
Times table quiz is on Tuesday.
Homework
- Maths homework: Children can practise general maths skills on Sumdog
- Spelling homework: Children can practise key spellings and spelling patterns on Spelling Shed - The Science of Spelling
- Home reading: 3 reads a week or more (please sign your child's reading diary so they can earn raffle tickets and an extra playtime)
- We also encourage children to play on TT Rockstars as often as possible. Times Tables Rock Stars: Play

Rewards
Reading - Our reader of the week will have their name proudly displayed on the door. This is for the child who has the most reads that week. Raffle tickets are awarded each time your book is signed and 3 reads equals extra playtime. We have a raffle prize draw on Friday.
Book Winner: Every Thursday, one child is chosen as our book prize winner. This child gets to choose a new and exciting book. This award is for effort with reading at home or at school.
Certificates: Certificates are also awarded in a Friday assembly for English or Maths and our class superstar!
Recognition Board- In class children work hard to get on the class recognition board. We agree on a class target which links with our school values or school rules: Respect, Responsible and Ready!
House Points- Your child will be in one of our wonderful House Point teams (Badger, Heron, Deer or Fox). Each week a house point team will be awarded the whole school trophy in assembly.
Sycamore's school counciler is Leela.
She will help us feel happy, safe, and ready to learn. She will listen, give advice, and help us find ways to solve problems and get along with others.
