We are the reception class at Waterfoot Primary School! We love to learn through play and hope you enjoy looking at lots of the lovely learning we do in this part of the website. Here is some information about the class. Scroll down for photos of our learning!

Home learning
Topic Homework:
Each half term, a copy of our topic homework grid is sent home and it is also available on the website. Please support your child by helping them to complete some the fun activities. Each completed activity is rewarded with house points.
Homework:
Homework is handed out on a WEDNESDAY and returned the following MONDAY. You will receive Maths homework one week, and phonics the next.
P.E. Days
P.E. Day: Tuesday
Your child can come to school in the active uniform or a more traditional uniform on non-PE days.
Please refer to the Uniform Policy if you are unsure.
Routines
Please encourage your child to come into their class independently. Parents and carers are welcome to bring their children to the doors during Autumn term. We operate an open-door policy if you wish to speak to anyone about your child. You can also use your child's reading diary to pass on any non-urgent messages. These will be checked regularly by our team.
Oak Class should enter their classroom via the EYFS gate and automatic doors.
Please send your child with a fresh water bottle each day and a book bag. Both of which must be labelled.
Healthy snacks and milk are provided by the school.
Rewards
Children will receive house points as an incentive for following our school rules and values. We also reward children's efforts with our recognition tree which is aimed to encourage and reward children as a team. We have a different focus for this depending on what we are working on in class but it could include 'Super Sitting, 'Lovely Listening', 'Waterfoot Walking'

Our First trip to the Woodland 23.09.26
Today we went to explore our woodland area. We found the base camps and searched for bugs, plants and fungi. We found lots of spiders and mushrooms and learnt about different trees. We talked about how to stay safe in the woods and what we could and couldn't touch.
