Home learning
- Home reading: Please read at home as much as possible, or try aiming for 3 reads a week.
- We encourage children to play on TT Rockstars to practise times tables and Sumdog to practise general maths.
- Children can also engage with themed homework each half term.

Routines
- Take your reading folder home each afternoon and return it to school the following day. Reading books are stored in the reading book basket. If you have finished a book and need to do a reading quiz, inform an adult.
- We come into school quietly and calmly and get on with our morning task which is often handwriting or times tables.
- Times table quizzes are on Tuesdays.
- Always be prepared for the weather!
Rewards
Reading - a certificate is awarded each week for our reader of the week.
Book Winner: Each week one child is chosen as our book winner. This child gets to choose a new book to keep. This award is for effort with reading at home or at school.
TTRockstars: Each week we have a TT Rockstar champion. for fantastic effort learning times tables.
Certificates: Certificates are awarded in a Friday assembly for English or maths and our class superstar!
This week in Beech class
This week, in Beech Class, we learned about how shadows are formed and the properties of shadows. We demonstrated this by creating our own shadow puppets.
hello yellow day - 9.10.26
Today we have been raising money and awareness about children's mental health. We went on a scavenger hunt around the school, spotting yellow items. We also did crafts and colouring.
