Who we are
We are a mixed class of year 5 and Year 6 pupils. Our teachers are Mrs Morgan (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) and Mrs Thornley (Wednesday and Thursday).
Our teaching assistant is Mrs Seinen. Our motto is 'be the best version of yourself'.
PE
Our PE days are Mondays (outdoor PE) and Thursdays (indoor PE). We like to have active brain breaks, so wearing your active uniform including trainers each day is a good idea!
Homework
Everyone is expected to read four times a week for at least 15 minutes. This can be aloud to an adult or can be completed silently. Either way, please write down the pages you have read in your reading diary and ask a grown-up to sign your diary. Each time your read you receive a reading dojo point and if you complete all of your reads then you get a massive extra 5 dojo points.
Spellings are set weekly on a Monday and tested on a Monday. Spelling homework is set on EdShed. You need to complete 4 spelling games. The most effective way to do this is by playing a game a day to help you learn and remember your new spellings words. We also practise these during our lessons. The games are set on a Wednesday and need to be completed by the following Monday.
Maths homework is set mainly on SumDog. This is set on a Wednesday and needs to be completed by the following Monday. As the year progresses, year 6 children will receive SATs style practice questions on either arithmetic or reasoning along with a short grammar revision paper.

We are enjoying our first term in UKS2 this year and have been busy reading The Explorer by Katherine Rundell (a brilliant author), finding out about vertebrates and invertebrates in Science (using our beautiful school grounds) and planning clay models in Art and learning how to work with clay.
